Hello and welcome. I began fishing lake Ontario back in the 80's, While I was no stranger to fishing big water fish after a childhood of fishing the Chesapeake bay and Potomac river with my grandfather the lure of lake Ontario and the king salmon, monster Browns, Lake trout and steelhead hooked me for life after the first encounter.
I moved to NY in 1990 simply to be closer to the Lake I love to fish and the fish I love to chase. Through out the 90's I worked with a number of different captains mating on their boats and enjoyed the company of the charters and enjoyed seeing the excitement they got from catching the variety of fish we have to offer.
As it is with any jobs you look for ways to move up, first step was getting the bigger boat, and then taking the tedious USCG captains exam and starting my own charter service. Why not?, I still love to interact with the folks and I still get enjoyment out of seeing the excitement in the customers eyes when we net a big fish.
I am a full time Captain, running 7 days a week out of Sodus Bay from April to early September and then I move the boat over to Rochester on the Genesee river. The Genesee river offers us a larger salmon run and allows us more time to fish because its sheltered from the common early fall winds that do not allow us access to the lake. Spending time on the river is an experience to behold, being on the river and knowing you are "in Rochester" but the river offers so much beauty in the scenery and wildlife that is abundant, along with some great salmon action as well.
Feel free to contact me so we can get you out for a fishing trip.
